Mariners and Athletics head for high ground after Coliseum drains back up

Jun 16, 2013, 8:00 PM EDT

Proponents of the Athletics relocating or getting a new stadium will certainly want to bookmark these tweets:

The Athletics wrapped up a six-game homestand with a 10-2 victory over the Mariners this afternoon and will now leave the exquisite confines of the Coliseum for a seven-game road trip to Texas and Seattle.

Knowing MLB they will simply fine Ryan Divish and Susan Slusser for making these tweets at all and then pretend like this never happened. Besides, they’re way too focused on the Biogenesis scandal to give a crap. No pun intended.

Worst clubhouse in the big leagues. Dirty, stinks, always been a health hazard. Matter of time before this happened.

Nah, that’s Mr. Carl Everett hopping on the Dinosaur Train to relevance.

While I understand that a lot of people have nostalgia for pulling out their weiners and peeing in a trough while shoulder to shoulder with a bunch of other swordsman….

Perhaps the plumping would work better if they didn’t make everyone squat around a 6″ pipe to shit at the same time.

Wow – I think you must have gone to the same summer camp as a boy that I did.

If they got rid of Mount Davis and re-did some of the infrastructure, the Oakland Coliseum would be a great place.

Totally embarrassing for us A’s fans. We deserve better, as do the players, but between 30 years of totally inept city leadership (sorry, “leadership”) and the clown feces on Old Man Selig’s blue ribbon panel this isn’t getting solved anytime soon.

  7. spellingcops - Jun 16, 2013 at 9:48 PM

Wow. The Raiders are so shitty, they are actually spreading it to other sports.

  8. MyTeamsAllStink - Jun 16, 2013 at 10:00 PM

the A’s should be allowed to move to SJ .The whole Giants territorial rights thing is ridiculous and outdated. And the Raiders should just suck it up and agree to share the new stadium with the 49ers.They aren’t getting anything built in Oakland and there isnt a stadium being built in LA anytime soon.

Astonishing, but not surprising. When I was very young and worked at the Pentagon 30 years ago I had to sometimes go down to the basement levels after the 5:00 pm exodus. The guards carried .45’s, not for intruders, but for the rodents. As a Bio major I was convinced that the rodents as huge as I saw there were not rats, but some product of either radiation experiments gone awry or a cross breeding program gone horribly wrong.

So when I read this about the Mausoleum, where I have seen large rodents in daylight, I know that, like catfish, the really big ones are where you can’t see them, and this story suggests that one or two of the big ones got into the sewer lines and died, causing the clogs that flooded the locker rooms.

God knows what will come out of this, something huge, no doubt, and something horrible. .45’s may not be enough. They may need tigers.

Yeah, but the Tigers are finished playing in Oakland this year 😉
