The Phillie Phanatic’s ATV stalled out before tonight’s game

Jun 17, 2013, 11:05 PM EDT

The Phillie Phanatic was out to do his usual routine prior to tonight’s game between the Nationals, but there was one problem: His ATV, known as his trademark mode of transportation, stalled out on the field. It ended up being carried off by the Phanatic and some field attendants.

Here’s the GIF, courtesy of Dan McQuade:

source: After watching the ATV’s performance tonight, Ruben Amaro, Jr. is reportedly interested in having it replace Delmon Young as the starting right fielder.

    Must… Resist… Analogy… To… Ruben Amaro’s “plan” of not having a statistical analysis plan.

The Philly Frenetic got big-leagued by his own ATV.

Well, the difference between the ATV and Delmon Young is that Young gets incentives to perform. But, yeah, similar arms.

But the ATV probably weighs less than Young.

    Sounds like their season

I’m suggesting it was sabotaged by Jason Werth.

That’s not out of the realm of possibility. This wouldn’t be the first time that he messed around with the Phanatic.

There was a blurb somewhere that Ian Desmond and Werth broke it.

Yeah, so lifting it over a fence would totally be my first thought of how to remove it from the field.

I mean could you imagine pushing that thing on level ground for 300 feet? I mean the wheels are round, that would be like impossible or something.

You’re nuts. Every time mine breaks down in the woods my first thought is to call everyone I know so we can lift it over our heads and carry it out. I can’t imagine putting it in neutral and trying to roll it out.

Yeah, why would they lift it? Amaro’s plan?

    Papelbon stalled out shortly after.

    Coincidence? Where’s Mulder and Scully……
