Alex Rodriguez is on Twitter

Jun 24, 2013, 4:29 PM EDT

Via Marc Normandin of SB Nation, we’ve learned today that Alex Rodriguez is on Twitter:

Of course he’s in all-caps.

His feed is pretty boring right now. Training updates and the like. Which I’m sure the New York tabloids will spin into “A-Rod even underachieves at being history’s greatest monster” or something.

The photo gallery on his website is missing the mirror-kissing and centaur shots.

Does it feature a victimized babes gallery?

For someone who is known for caring way too much what people think of him, Twitter sounds like a horrible idea for Alex Rodriguez.

On the other hand, it gives people a whole new venue for taunting him. Which makes it a great idea for people not named Alex Rodriguez.

I wonder if he had to buy that twitter handle from the original owner or if twitter gave it to arod.

    • ch0psuey - Jun 24, 2013 at 6:42 PM

Not sure why all the thumbs down, solid question. Wonder if a website or twitter name are already taken, what does it take to take/purchase that name/handle…

Why’d he go with Valverde’s dump picture there?

    • heyblueyoustink - Jun 24, 2013 at 5:36 PM

He could have used his “syringe in the ass” shot. At least to troll everyone who is going to troll on him first.

      • historiophiliac - Jun 24, 2013 at 5:39 PM

Well that’s a quandary. The needle ruins a good ass shot, but then again, how can you hate an ass shot. Hrmmm. How to go on that?

  5. heyblueyoustink - Jun 24, 2013 at 5:34 PM

Somewhere, Scott Boras just face palmed himself?

    • historiophiliac - Jun 24, 2013 at 7:05 PM

In all seriousness, Boras and his staff are probably doing his tweeting. It’s PR. I doubt he’s like Verlander and the like and handles his own. His is probably more like Miggy’s — the staff posts for him.

      • churchoftheperpetuallyoutraged - Jun 24, 2013 at 7:16 PM

He dropped Boras before re-signing with the Yanks in ’07.

      • historiophiliac - Jun 24, 2013 at 7:17 PM

        Oh. Okay. Nevermind. Thanks, church.

  6. tuberippin - Jun 24, 2013 at 5:56 PM

    How fitting. Another twat tweeting.

    • historiophiliac - Jun 24, 2013 at 7:06 PM

Vagina hating? Do I need to go back to the Delmon Young jokes?

      • tuberippin - Jun 24, 2013 at 11:06 PM

I’m not hating on vaginas. I don’t think I’ve ever called a vagina a “twat”, just people.

Also, if you hadn’t noticed, derogatory/pejorative terms for people who are not well-liked are often linked to words that you could view as “vagina hating.” Example: douchebag. Just sayin’.

      • historiophiliac - Jun 24, 2013 at 11:14 PM

Exactly — the inference being that there’s something bad about them or being associated with them. 😦

  7. hojo20 - Jun 24, 2013 at 6:39 PM

It’s a good way to get into good graces with the fans. Show a personal side. Tiger Woods did the same thing.

    • tuberippin - Jun 24, 2013 at 11:06 PM

Worked out pretty great for Tiger….

  8. maritime85 - Jun 24, 2013 at 6:59 PM

When will it be the cool thing to not hate on arod

    • historiophiliac - Jun 24, 2013 at 7:03 PM

      When centaurs fly.
