Matt Harvey to appear nude in ESPN the Magazine

Jun 25, 2013, 2:00 PM EDT

New York Mets starting pitcher Matt Harvey pitches against the Chicago White Sox with a bloody nose during the first inning of their MLB Inter League baseball game at CitiField in New York Reuters

ESPN the Magazine’s answer to the SI Swimsuit issue is its annual “Body Issue.”  Which is at least more honest than the Swimsuit Issue is in its intentions of giving you nude pictures of athletes. It’s not pretending to be something it isn’t. Here’s Jose Bautista from it last year. True to life but for the uniform and the complaining about the call on the imaginary pitch he’s swinging at.

They really do try to please everyone with this, giving us more or less tasteful nude men, women and athletes of all different sports. At least the good-looking ones. I don’t think John Daly is making this bad boy, but within the realm of the fit athletes, they do give a pretty fair representation of the sporting world.

This year’s baseball entrant: Matt Harvey. Who already has a sexy curveball. Guess we’ll see if there’s anything else sexy about him when the issue hits the stands next month.

Hmmm…if I click on the link to a nude Jose Bautista…does that make me…

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

    Stupid sexy Flanders

In related news, when asked if he was disappointed not to be included in this year’s “Body Issue”, Pablo Sandoval replied: “Are you going to finish that sandwich?”

Nude Gary Player??? A dream come true.

Just a quick update because I know you are interested…
      (33) Thumbs up and (34) Thumbs down. Tight numbers to be sure!

      • historiophiliac - Jun 25, 2013 at 3:53 PM

Dude, I’m not having a good day. I don’t care, and the thumbs could just be the harpy.

    • stlouis1baseball - Jun 25, 2013 at 3:54 PM

      Light up…
The “I know you are interested” should have made you chuckle…while shaking your head of course. Good point on the harpy…but dude doesn’t usually give thumbs up. Or does he?

    • stlouis1baseball - Jun 25, 2013 at 3:55 PM

And if my bruised ribs post garnered ZERO responses from you…you must really be having a bad day. What’s wrong.

Work should NEVER, EVER interfere with baseball or baseball-related activities… just sayin’.

      • historiophiliac - Jun 25, 2013 at 5:35 PM

It’s not interfering. It’s just making my day crappy.

You’d never see a Yankee show the world his weiner cleavage.

      Yogi Berra. Playgirl 1956. It’s a scorcher.

Do the Yankees require their players to shave there, too? Just curious how strict they are.

  6. genericcommenter - Jun 25, 2013 at 2:50 PM

Do they use some kind of tape there?

    • nbjays - Jun 25, 2013 at 2:58 PM

      Duct tape?

      • nothanksimdriving123 - Jun 25, 2013 at 3:58 PM

        Video tape.

I heard they were going to use Trout but then they realized that the chicken wings protruding from his abdomen might not be as dead sexy.

We finally get to see what made Jon Rauch cower in fear.

  9. neoshweaty - Jun 25, 2013 at 3:13 PM

Come on Craig, you know you should have followed up the sexy curveball line with “Guess we’ll see what other sexy curves he has when the issue hits the stands next month”. It was right down the middle of the plate waitin for ya to hit it 500 feet.
