Cubs prospect Jorge Soler has a stress fracture, could be done for the year

Cubs fans who are hoping that their Cuban prospect, Jorge Soler, can pull a Yasiel Puig aren’t gonna like this:

Muskat reports that the fracture is in his left tibia and that he did it on a foul ball.

Soler’s year hasn’t been one to write home about. In April he was suspended for threatening the opposing team with a bat. Later that month he was suspended for not hustling. For the year he’s hitting a respectable .281/.343/.467 with eight homers and 35 driven in in 55 games. But it’s certainly not the stuff of a $30 million free agent deal and, in any case, may now be over.
