Scott Boras admitted to FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal in April that he was blindsided by Robinson Cano‘s decision to abruptly leave the Boras Corporation for a new sports agency started by rap mogul Jay-Z. So it’s probably safe to say that Boras is not going to like this:

[Jay-Z], who recently began work as a sports agent with his Roc Nation Sports, took a shot at Boras in a song off his upcoming new album.

“Scott Boras, you over baby. Robinson Cano, you coming with me,” Jay-Z raps on the song “Crown,”’s Darren Rovell has confirmed.

That’s from ESPN New York. “Magna Carta Holy Grail” — Jay-Z’s 13th solo LP — hits shelves and iPods and blank CDs on Thursday.

Scott Boras issued a response via CBS Sports’ Scott Miller. Sadly, it was not in the form of a dis song:

Like him or not.. Jay-Z is smart since that small diss made posts on other sites advertising his album for him

This has already received more attention than it deserved. It’s all in good humor, stop making it out for more than it is. Jay-Z = marketing guru

Hate on Boras all you want, but let’s face it, if you’re a smart baseball player, would you hire an agent who had played baseball professionally, has a law degree, and a long track record of negotiating record setting contracts or a rapper who never played baseball or any sport professionally, didn’t even graduate from high school, and most likely don’t even know how to read a contract? Whoever signed with Jay-Z is an ignorant groupie who is getting used by Jay-Z. Now I grew up listening to Jay-Z, but I wouldn’t hire him as my agent if I play baseball. I’d rather go with Boras.

Jay-Z is not negotiating their contracts, he is representing all of their interests. If you were a young athlete, wouldn’t you want to follow a guy who made himself a mogul from an upbringing in the projects?

Let’s face Jay-z is only getting clients because of his name not his talent, his fame will fade out as an agent.

Yes, Jay-Z cannot enunciate, speak well, sing or play an instrument. He has no real artistic talent, hence the reason he gets rich off uneducated ghetto people. He is a jackass as well, frog eyed piece of filth.
