Ballplayers will once again be wearing lame caps for Fourth of July games

Jul 4, 2013, 1:00 PM EST

Your obligatory summer holiday caps for the major leaguers on this Fourth of July:

As usual, 100% of net proceeds of sales of the special caps will go to the Welcome Back Veterans charity. Which is a worthy cause, obviously. I just wish that the worthy cause could be matched up with a worthy cap design. Whites and grays are just awful. Regular caps with an American flag on the side would be way cooler.

They are only lame if your un American or a douche

      You’re a solipsistic jackass.

OG, if he can’t get “you’re,” he’s certainly not going to be able to handle anything polysyllabic.

Perhaps Gator. But the caps are sharp. I dig them. Always have.
And I typically detest alternate designs…be it jerseys, hats, underwear or beer cans.

No one spends $40 for a hat with just a little emblem or flag added to the side. Hat collecting is growing by the day and unique hats that are available for a limited time produce real revenue.

Could that be because people are being born with more heads?

      • jimeejohnson - Jul 5, 2013 at 12:33 PM

        Yes.

I’ve been watching those hats all day, and I agree with Craig.
    I’m sick of them.

    • sparky1002 - Jul 6, 2013 at 10:33 AM

Does it matter who won or lost the game?

The only thing that’s lame is your opinion.

No Blue Jays hates for sale? What the heck.

  6. biscuitneck - Jul 5, 2013 at 10:45 AM

Cripes! I wonder if New Era is having these made in China? Wouldn’t that be fitting.

I think they should all be red-white-and blue Tie Dyes. I let my neighbor die in my back yard just the other day. His wife and kid died with him.
