Derek Jeter’s equipment was shipped to New York

This is sorta like those reports of team planes flying to the hometowns of free agents in December and those are often full of it, but for what it’s worth, George King of the New York Post reports:

Derek Jeter’s equipment from Tampa has made it to The Bronx, likely meaning the Yankees captain won’t be far behind.

Jeter’s equipment coming to New York, as opposed to Scranton where the shortstop will continue his Triple-A rehab tonight, is a very strong indication he will be in pinstripes this weekend for the Yankees final games before the All-Star break against the Twins.

Joe Girardi said yesterday that he’d like to see Jeter play back-to-back games in the field before coming to New York. He had last night off but is scheduled to start at shortstop tonight. If he does the same thing tomorrow you have to figure he’s in New York this weekend.

Craig – Did you get a picture of the bag?

  2. jayscarpa - Jul 10, 2013 at 2:14 PM

Is he bringing Gary Sanchez with him?

Brian Cashman strikes again… if they just wait until after the ASB they could get another year of arbitration out of him….

Be careful to criticise him as ‘Cashman apologists’ troll this site and will slam anyone who date question anything he does.

The more important question is did they ship his giftbasket-making materials? Because where that stuff is- is where Derek is going to be.

    That sounds painful.

Derek doesn’t have his equipment with him in SWB?

Good news in any event, it has been painful watching the offense the last three days, and really all season.

What is his current equipment’s name?

3 games before the break? Just enough time for the fans to vote him in the all star game.

Quick, somebody tell Jim Leyland that he is a shut down set up man and he’s a lock to make it.

Why not wait until after the break? Get him a little more rest and a fresh start for the second half.

Boy, I hope his bags don’t get lost or people will read all kinds of stuff into that.

Wouldn’t his stuff go through NY of if was being shipped to Scranton?

    Where’s A-Rod’s bag?

    • denny65 - Jul 11, 2013 at 6:13 AM

      It was shipped to Charleston.
