Watch the Home Run Derby participants’ first career homers

Jul 10, 2013, 3:55 PM EDT

Via our friends at MLB Productions comes this cool video showing the first career homers for each of this year’s eight Home Run Derby participants:

My favorite tidbit: Of the eight homers, one was hit in Montreal and one was hit in Japan.

Awesome video! I was struck by he way Cano kept his head down. Prince finished high (much like he still does today) and Carlos’ swing looks the same (forgot about him starting out with the A’s).

Prince actually looks more fit now, quite interesting. And you can Chris Davis always had that power and physique…it was just consistency

      consistency….and PEDs.

He is the same size now as in the video – no peds there – just skill and determination

    Notably, 2 A’s.

Harper being in the derby is an absolute joke

Much like your comment…Where do these morons come from…geez.

Am I the only who thinks the Cuddyer one sounds like it was dubbed after the fact?

Was there just a Robert Fick sighting? If MLB can dig up footage of Michael Cuddyer’s first career HR, why can’t they dig up footage of Robert Fick getting one of the greatest beer showers ever at Comiskey circa 2000?

I am taking my kid to the HR Derby, got great seats! Can’t wait to take him and see the look on his face when he gets there. He has no idea, will be a great surprise.
