Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig was pulled from tonight’s game against the Rockies in the fifth inning due to the sore left hip that has been bothering him lately. He was taken out after seven innings yesterday and could only make it five tonight. Scott Van Slyke replaced him in right field.

Puig recently lost the MLB All-Star Final Vote to Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman. Since making his debut on June 3, the 22-year-old Cuban had posted a .397/.429/.630 slash line entering tonight’s game.

Because him losing the Final Vote is, you know, pertinent to the story.

Not winning the Final Vote means Puig can rest his hip during the All-Star break. Which is, you know, pertinent to the story.

Puig getting rest is pertinent. It is also, you know, not what the author said.

The final All-Star spot in this story is not necessary, but it is filler pertinent to the latest news on the subject of the story. Author is allowed to infer for intelligent readers to presume what may be happening between the lines.

It’s like nails on a chalkboard preventing me from hearing any point you’re trying to make: authors imply, readers infer.

        Good point.

Don’t be a dick when you correct people incorrectly. Though that’s not the way the word’s normally used, it is one of the definitions.

How about “Puig’s Hip Injury: Catastrophe or Disaster?”

Was so looking forward to watching Puig on the Saturday game against Colorado; guess that is not happening, now; and, he won’t be on/in the All-star game either?
Hey LA fans what happened to your vote?

    Awww poor baby.

  5. MyTeamsAllStink - Jul 13, 2013 at 9:45 AM

sit him out the rest of the series and let him rest during the all star break.
