Yasiel Puig leaves game with a bum left hip

Jul 12, 2013, 9:43 AM EDT

Bad day for Yasiel Puig. First he loses the Final Vote to Freddie Freeman then he has Pedro Gomez dump all over him and, finally, he gets hurt:

Don Mattingly said after the game that he’s not too concerned about Puig and thinks he could be back in the lineup today. But if he isn’t, let’s look at the bright side: if he doesn’t have to play he’ll have more time to pick up girls sitting in the stands.

To the people who find Puig mania aggravating, Puig’s aggravated hip will probably be a welcome relief.

I’m still recovering from the Limp Bizkit mania from over a decade ago. So yeah, the relief is welcomed.

Didn’t the exact same thing happen to A-Rod when he tried to get a number from a woman in the stands?

It looks like he got those digits!

    HI-YOOOO!!!!!

Can’t help but wonder did he strain his hip showing off his tushy for that little hottie he saw in the stands?

Im a Dodger fan and I’m annoyed with the constant Puig updates. Its bordering on Tebowmania

    • sophiethegreatdane - Jul 12, 2013 at 10:53 AM

No way. Tebow-mania shows no mercy and takes no prisoners.

At least Puig is living up to the hype so far. I bet he throws a better spiral than Timmy T does anyhow. :)

He had that same problem a couple of weeks ago

Technically tebow lived up to the hype longer because he went 6-1 and then won a playoff game but very similar in fan craze

I know this isn’t PFT, but I think Elvis Dumervil and the Broncos D might disagree with who led them on that playoff run.

Puig is a 5 tool player with lots of potential. But he needs to learn from the vets like Han Ram and Adrian Gonzalez how to be patient at bat and not chase after every ball. He needs to learn not to be aggressive with his base paths as well. If this kid wants to be great, he needs to learn from the vets.

Undoubtedly, Puig is the greatest talent to come out of Cuba since Ricky Ricardo. When interviewing Puig, sports writers should play with his mind and whisper they really ARE from the Secret Police.

Perfect example of a month old rookie who has mistakenly started to believe his own press. Glad he didn’t make it to the All Star game…one month does not a star make. He needs time to realize he’s human and not this god that the press has proclaimed him to be. Time to grow up, Puig.
