Matt Ehalt of ESPN New York caught up with Curtis Granderson at a charity event today and the Yankees outfielder said he’s aiming to come off the disabled list by the end of this month.

Granderson has been out since May 25 with a broken pinkie finger that was initially expected to keep him sidelined for at least 4-6 weeks. He’s already started to do most baseball activities, including “hitting in the cage recently and doing some stuff soft toss.”

This is the second major injury of the season for Granderson, who’s played a total of just eight games in between DL stints.

This brother gave $5M to UIC for a new baseball stadium. We don’t hear much about great stories like that.

Too bad he plays for the Yanks, or I’d like him a little more.
