The Red Sox are scouting Michael Young, Alex Rios, Jake Peavy and Aramis Ramirez

Jul 19, 2013, 3:20 PM EDT

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess that Nick Cafardo has a source in the Sox’ scouting department:

What with Buchholz hurting and Lester kinda stinkin’, hopefully the best of those scouts is watching Jake Peavy. And can sign him all by himself after using a Microsoft tablet like in that commercial that makes no baseball sense whatsoever.

Really, what in the heck is going on with that?

Please take Aramis! I’m not even really concerned about the prospects we get back. Getting rid of that backloaded deal would be great for us.

You know, I say we just call up all the pitchers in Pawtucket and see which one sticks.

Captain O’Hagan: I swear to God I’m going to pistol whip the next guy who says, ” Shenanigans.”
Mac: Hey Farva what’s the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy shit on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?
    Farva: You mean Shenanigans?
    Mac: OOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
    Thorny: OOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
[as they hand the Captain their pistols]

    Young? Ramirez? Noooooooooo!!!

It’s hard to see why the Sox would pursue Ramirez. They might need a third baseman this year, but they don’t need one for next year — Xander Bogaerts will be ready by then. (Carfardo loves Michael Young, but I can’t imagine that the Red Sox do.)

Ramirez to the Yankees makes sense to me.

I hope they get Michael Young. It won’t cost them jack.

      It will cost them wins!

“can sign him all by himself after using a Microsoft tablet like in that commercial that makes no baseball sense whatsoever.”

I noticed that. The GM the scout is talking to asks the scout “what’s his ERA against left handed batters?”. What the hell is that about? Not for nothing but you would never see that kind of error is an Apple ad.

The worse part about it is that they are running that commercial constantly on MLBAtBat games, where baseball fans know.

Michael Young on the Red Sox. The media will make that fucking unbearable in about three seconds.

psousa1 he is htting near .300

    • Glenn - Jul 19, 2013 at 9:32 PM

It’s actually a very empty .288 – and he sucks in the field. Over paid and big ego, though. What is his upside?

The Red Sox need to focus on only one player that is Cliff Lee. No other moves are needed at this time.
