Today in spelling mistakes: Ron Roenicke’s jersey

Jul 20, 2013, 7:55 PM EDT

Unbeknownst to Brewers manager Ron Roenicke, the name of his city was misspelled on his jersey as he stood in the dugout observing his team as they battled the Marlins.

Via ESPN’s Darren Rovell on Twitter:

It’s M-I-L-W-A-U-K-E-E, Ron, come on!

This brings back memories of the illustrious “Natinals” jerseys worn by Ryan Zimmerman and Adam Dunn back in 2009.

I wonder if Baer and Rovell both made extra sure that they spelled “Roenicke” correctly.

On a related note, FOX’s broadcast of Yankees-Red Sox today displayed a graphic with the Chicago “Whiet” Sox on it.

My own favourite? No surprise — it’s Joe Carter playing for “Torotno”.
