Jesse Crain won’t be off the DL by the trade deadline

Jesse Crain was supposed to play catch and then throw a bullpen session today, but those plans were canceled after the White Sox reliever suffered what the team is calling a minor setback.

Minor or not, it means Crain won’t be activated from the disabled list until after the July 31 trade deadline, significantly reducing the White Sox’s options with the impending free agent who was in the middle of a career-year before being shut down with a shoulder injury.

Pitching coach Don Cooper told Dan Hayes of CSNChicago.com that Crain “just needs more time” and “he just wasn’t feeling up to it.”

I’ve been a Sox fan for years, but sometimes I just have to shake my head. Coming into the trade deadline, clearly in last place, they ride their best reliever like a mule and then SURPRISE, he gets injured thus tanking his trade value. Inexplicable.

OK so I have to go on the field with a know PED user who is about to get disenfranchished. Do I get to stand five feet in front of home base as my advantage over the PED guy who is pumped up with drugs?

Its suppose to be a fair contests. Its not when one of the players has drugs in him. Time the players stand up for themselves and tell ‘baseball’, enough. This person cannot take the field until cleared of all drugs and drug charges aka Braun.
