From the Detroit Free Press comes word that Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera will miss a fourth straight game Friday due to lingering soreness in his left hip flexor. Don Kelly will get the start at third base and Matt Tuiasosopo will play left field as the American League Central-leading Tigers open a three-game set against the Phillies at Detroit’s Comerica Park.

Cabrera has reported some improvement in his hip and could be available to pinch-hit if he makes it through pregame batting practice. The Tigers, who enter play Friday with a three-game division lead over the Indians, aren’t going to rush him back until he’s discomfort-free.

Cabrera, 30, is batting .358/.454/.666 with 31 home runs and 96 RBI in 97 games this season.

Not only is Miggy out, but the reason Tui is in is because Hunter is out injured. :( Still, we’re up going into the 6th.

The reason Miguel Cabrera is out is because MLB is also investigating him for the biogenesis debacle.

What a shame poor Miggy is out… maybe he can whine himself to sleep and get a little rest, since he can’t whine to the umpires or his teammates when he’s not on the field. Grow up, little Baby Miggy – when you’re the best hitter in baseball, pitchers are going to move you off the plate once in a while. Notice when Ben Zobrist got hit the next night, despite no one on the Tigers getting hit at all either night, he took his base without a bunch of sh*t coming out of his spoiled rotten mouth. Yeah, poor Baby Miggy… take your freakin ball and go home.
