Alexi Ogando has struggled since coming off the disabled list three weeks ago, posting a 4.68 ERA in five starts with as many walks (11) as strikeouts (11) in 25 innings. And now he might be hurt.

Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star Telegram reports that Ogando complained of shoulder soreness after Tuesday’s start and underwent a CT scan yesterday.

He’s already spent one stint on the disabled list with shoulder problems this season and also missed time with a biceps injury, so the Rangers’ depleted rotation is in danger of Ogando joining Matt Harrison and Colby Lewis on the shelf.

Can anyone explain to me the purpose of a couple hundred million dollar franchise electing to do a CT over an MRI?

Who’s the guy that was on here telling me I was wrong for saying Ogando did not have what it takes to be a starter?

I have some crow pie baking for him.

In all fairness to Alexi he kept the Rangers in the game in 4 of his 5 starts and one of his 2 losses he got zero run support. He is however not ready for prime time right now! It remains to be seen – probably next season – if he is still a starter. Then again he could come back and win the rest of the season. Or he could terrorize the opposition from the bullpen. Alexi is a keeper who gives 100%!
