In their quest to find a second baseman, the Braves have signed Tyler Greene to a Minor League deal and assigned him to Triple-A Gwinnett, the team announced via Twitter. Greene, who turned 30 years old today, was released by the White Sox on Tuesday.

We learned last night that GM Frank Wren had been scouring the waiver wire for a second baseman. The Braves are hoping Greene might be their stopgap solution as Dan Uggla works his way back after undergoing LASIK eye surgery.

Keep looking. Cards fan here, and the guy just doesn’t have “it”. All the talent in the world, but he just can’t put it together. I dunno, maybe the kid had it but the mind games LaRussa played with him constantly sending him up and down ruined his confidence, or maybe LaRussa saw all along that he wouldn’t succeed so he never gave him a chance, but either way this guy is on his way out.

T.G. spent a huge amount of time w/ the big club. As you stated in your 3rd sentence…”he just can’t put it together.” Here’s to hoping he does!
