Juan Lagares made a ridiculously good catch

Aug 19, 2013, 3:30 PM EST

Mets center fielder Juan Lagares covers a lot of territory to tack down this ball hit by Justin Morneau:

That was fantastic.  He seemed banged up but did come out to bat the next inning.

Been watching this guy all year, and he could be one of the best defensive CFs in the league. If he can improve his plate discipline he could be a fixture in the mets outfield next year.

I’m pretty sure that was Josh Willingham batting..

All white people look alike to Craig.

The Mets appear to be improving, incrementally, but that can’t be right.

And he used to be a second-baseman a few years ago.

The way things are going in the NL East, I’m beginning to think that the Mets will soon overtake the Nats as the Braves main competition in the years to come. Last year’s Nats weren’t a fluke, but there are key players who had career years last year, particularly LaRoche. But the Mets have some solid young pitching in Harvey and Wheeler, so they could be a contender for the division pretty soon.

Well….the Mets will keep improving, but I wouldn’t write off Washington by any stretch. To me, it looks like Atlanta/Washington/Mets in the next two years with Miami coming along just after that, especially if they swap Stanton for a bucket full of awesome young players like say – Jurickson Profar. Philly you know will retool once they shit can Amaro and start building with younger players again.

Here’s a Kinerism for you: Two-thirds of the earth is covered by water. The other third is covered by Juan Lagares.”

That used to be Garry Maddox’s job.

Especially since I suspicion that the Nationals will hire Wally Backman away from the Mets. Sandy Alderson likes lap dogs as managers and he has the perfect one in Terry Collins.

Just need the bat to work alittle better

Ron had a good take on that. If he can just hit .240 with some steals, he’s a perfect #8 hitter in the National League. His glove is so valuable, that they have to keep him in there. Its the Rey Ordonez situation all over again. Except Lagares isn’t a douchebag.
