Could be pretty bad.

I can’t see these videos any more for some reason, either on Chrome or Firefox…

Do you have AdBlock turned on? The video won’t start if the ad before it can’t load, discovered this recently myself. It’s the same way with most NBC run videos.

        Adblock was the issue, thanks

I save any video I want to watch until I read the stories I want. Then I mute adds go grab some coffee and come back and I will then run the video I want to see back a few seconds if I miss part of it. Occasionally I move onto another story as I let the muted ads run then come back for the story.

Good to see a bit on Heyward. He was glaringly absent from ATH, and in my opinion, was the most important baseball news of day. THIS is why you can’t use a baseball as a weapon against someone you don’t like, Ryan Dempster. And don’t tell me the Dump was aiming for soft tissue or something b/c it took him four tries to hit ARod. What if one of those errantly went into his face? Do we have to wait until a player is killed or his career is put to an end before the MLB and the players take this more seriously? A slap on the wrist fine and a small rotation shuffle due to a five-day break ain’t shit. This deters nothing.

I agree totally on your take on Dempster. But not all pitches that are high and inside are thrown there on purpose, and not all deserve to be labeled head hunting. The pitch Heyward got hit on was unfortunate, he is a good guy and the Braves will miss him, but some of the blame has to go to Heyward. It was a pitch he should have been able to avoid, and I don’t think it was intentional.

      • El Bravo - Aug 22, 2013 at 3:56 PM

It was NOT intentional. I should have clarified my thought on that. There’s an argument out there that throwing at a batter isn’t as dangerous as it sounds b/c they throw for low-damage areas without high risk of injury. That is stupid. If a pitch aimed for the strike zone can break a guy’s jaw in two places, surely a pitch aimed at someone’s ass cheek can also break a guys face too. Dempster took four tries to hit ARod….four!

We are not disagreeing. What Dempster did was reprehensible, and I stand with you that throwing at hitters has no place. But I also stand by the notion that Heyward should have been able to avoid the pitch, as devastating as it turned out to be.

Oddly enough i can see them on my iphone…use to never be able to

Heyward dives into the plate because he stands so far back in the box. The ball kept riding up and in and there was no way for him to get out of the way. Yeah he could have turned his head but he would have gotten hit anyway. If a ball is coming high and tight u pretty do whatever it takes to get out of the way. If he could have gotten out of the way he would have.
