Derek Jeter in the lineup, batting second against the Blue Jays

Aug 26, 2013, 5:44 PM EDT

Derek Jeter … is … GO!

It’ll be interesting to see if he runs hard or if he takes a page from Robinson Cano‘s book and doesn’t. And if he doesn’t, I wonder if he gets any flak for it.

If I’m Joe Girardi I wrap Jetes in bubble wrap between at bats and let him heel-toe it down the baselines.

Ok craig. Be that guy who shits on the best 2B in baseball

    • protectthishouse54 - Aug 26, 2013 at 6:19 PM

I think there should be a link in there somewhere…otherwise it looks like Craig is just slamming Cano for no reason.

      • proudlycanadian - Aug 26, 2013 at 6:43 PM

There have been a few threads recently about Cano and his lack of hustle on routine ground outs. I have not seen enough of all the ML second basemen to say who is best; however the low error total is suspect. In a game against the Jays last week he should have been given an error,: however, the home town scorer credited Lind with an infield single instead. Lind gets very few infield hits to second base.

PC is whining again acting as if the Yanks are the only team that gives home town calls with fielding. Whats even more sad is he is trying to suggest Cano isn’t a good fielder, anyone with an IQ over 70 knows that isn’t even remotely true

If you followed this site at all, you’d know Craig mocks those who shit on the best 2B in baseball for not hustling out routine grounds.

      • Kevin S. - Aug 26, 2013 at 6:38 PM

        Er, grounders.

        EDIT FUNCTION!

      • Glenn - Aug 26, 2013 at 7:24 PM

I’ll still take Pedroia over him every time.

      • Kevin S. - Aug 26, 2013 at 10:35 PM

        You prefer inferior players?

    • theskinsman - Aug 26, 2013 at 7:21 PM

The best as far as ability? Yes. As for effort, probably #32.

    • unclemosesgreen - Aug 26, 2013 at 9:52 PM

You mean Robbie Ca-No-Hustle? That guy?

  2. proudlycanadian - Aug 26, 2013 at 6:16 PM

I am sure that he will still look magnificent as he waives at ground balls that go past him.

    • proudlycanadian - Aug 26, 2013 at 9:44 PM

He did not have any difficult chances in the field tonight. He was 0 for 3 at the plate with one walk.

  3. buffalo65 - Aug 26, 2013 at 6:18 PM

Hard not to like Jeter. A hall of fame guy, or a hall of fame PR staff. Hope he avoids any more issues.

  4. buffalo65 - Aug 26, 2013 at 7:14 PM

He’s all yours New York or LA for
    24
Million per…good luck, another bad contract.

Proudly Canadian. Your comical. Keep Em coming.

    • dirtyharry1971 - Aug 26, 2013 at 8:38 PM

Yea him and buffalo bob are a riot

    • proudlycanadian - Aug 26, 2013 at 9:49 PM

The enigmatic Hughes pitched like his twin sister Phyllis tonight. Thank you Phil for being consistently bad during your recent pitching appearances in Toronto.

      • unclemosesgreen - Aug 26, 2013 at 9:51 PM

Now you’re taunting harry and historio at the same time.

      • proudlycanadian - Aug 26, 2013 at 9:57 PM

I would never taunt historio. I drafted Miggy first overall in my fantasy league.

      • unclemosesgreen - Aug 26, 2013 at 10:01 PM

C’mon – insulting a guy by comparing him to a girl is just begging for a historio smackdown. We’ll have to call it unintentional trolling then. Drive safely, sir.

      • proudlycanadian - Aug 26, 2013 at 10:04 PM

I suspect that many Yankee fans agree with me regarding Hughes. When he is good, he is very very good. When he is bad, he is horrid.

      • unclemosesgreen - Aug 26, 2013 at 10:06 PM

So which one is Phil and which is Phyllis? Inquiring minds want to know. Does this mean there’s a horrible male pitcher out there named James Finch to counterbalance Jennie?

      • proudlycanadian - Aug 26, 2013 at 10:11 PM

Your question is too complicated for me to answer right now, so I will pass on it. Good night unclemosesgreen.

      • dirtyharry1971 - Aug 26, 2013 at 10:19 PM

taunting me? please, the fool is too dumb to understand his team is 2-12 against the Yanks this season and has been eliminated from the playoffs back in april. I actually feel embarrassed for the guy because he isn’t smart enough to be embarrassed for himself

    • unclemosesgreen - Aug 26, 2013 at 9:50 PM

As long as you keep those butt fumbles coming. That’s what’s really hilarious.

  6. stevequinn - Aug 26, 2013 at 9:45 PM

Happy to see Jeter back. The Yankees can use him for the stretch run. They’re within striking distance of a wildcard.

  7. jwbiii - Aug 26, 2013 at 10:23 PM

    6-3, 5-4-3 GDP, BB, K.
