Joe Girardi and Derek Jeter have confirmed that Jeter will rejoin the Yankees tonight in Toronto. He will, presumably, be the starting shortstop.

Jeter missed the first 91 games of the season recovering from the broken ankle suffered in the ALCS. Then he played a game, hurt his quad, went back on the DL, played four games, hurt his groin and went back on the DL once again. He’s only made 21 plate appearances this year.

      DOOOOMMM!!!

Lessee now – ankle, quad, groin …. leaving 3 untapped sources of lower body ‘old man’ injuries – achilles, calf and hammy. I’ll be taking bets on which day of this week he goes DL again, and which of the 3 it will be.

Oh, I hope he stays off the DL. Pasta diving Old Jeter would surely bring the doom. (Thumbs down!!!!!!!!!!!!) he he

He’s a permanent member of the DL – the DOOOOMMM!!! List.

To make room for their great Captain, the Yankees sent Preston Claiborne back to the minors. Not sure what Claiborne has done to be treated like a toilet seat. He has pitched very well for the Yankees. I would have designated Chamberlain for assignment instead.

I’ve always liked Jetes and find I can root for old man Jeter very easily. That being said, playing him at short just isn’t going to work.
