Brett Anderson has missed four months — his last action was on April 29 — but today they’ve finally activated their Opening Day starter.

It was a foot injury which sidelined him. Now he’s back but likely in a relief role given that he’s been out so long.  To clear a roster spot for him the A’s sent Tommy Milone down to Sacramento.

It was Brett not Sparky Anderson.

I know. He’s from the Frying Pan.

I forgot that he was an Oakie.

Can’t they just make an exception to the JDA for this kid? He is so much fun to watch, but cannot stay healthy. This is what PED’s should be for!

why relief? Griffin has given up 59 HRs. Straily is on his heels.

CLyde, I don’t think his arm strength id where it needs to be for a starter, yet. He’ll probably stretch his side work like a starter until they are ready to move him into the rotation. Or they could just say screw it, “Griffin has given up 59 HRs. Straily is on his heels.”
