Clay Buchholz expected to rejoin the Red Sox on September 10

Aug 29, 2013, 10:30 AM EDT

The Sox are poised to have a front line starting pitcher join their rotation for the final stretch and the playoffs:

His next two rehab starts are tomorrow and next Wednesday. Assuming those go OK, he’ll be back. Which, given that he was beat up in his first rehab game against Low-A batters this past weekend, is no guarantee.

He’ll have a maximum of what, 5 starts before the playoffs? I’m not sure I’d feel good about having him in the playoff rotation.

Don’t worry about him in the playoffs, he’ll be on the DL in a week, bank on it.

What if I want to short this, what’s the action?

Hooray for Clay and I wish his wife health and happiness in delivering his Claby.
