Miguel Cabrera is back in the Tigers lineup

Miguel Cabrera AP

Miguel Cabrera hasn’t played for three games with an abdominal injury but he’s back in tonight’s lineup against the Red Sox.

You sorta have to wonder about Cabrera’s injury, don’t you? It’s been described as an abdominal injury for the most part. I’m told Dave Dombrowski referred to it as a groin injury the other day. Perhaps he was just mistaken or confused, but you do get the sense that Cabrera is maybe hurting more than the Tigers want to let on. Or at least in a place where they don’t want to let on.

Still: he’s Miguel Cabrera. And after every little tweak or pull this year, he’s come back and continued to hit like Babe Ruth, so if the Tigers aren’t worried, why should we be?

My simple answer to a great question. At times, elite players needed to be saved from themselves.

Guess he’ll have to try again.

HUGE win for the Red Sox. Lester stepped up.

        I hate you.

        That was already evident. ;)

Don’t worry, Max will be just fine.

        But, I won’t.

Lester came up big. Cabrera came up with 2 out and the bases loaded. Lester induced him to hit into a fielders choice. If Cabrera had a hit instead of an out, the Tigers would probably have won.

Miggy looked terrible in the box tonight. If this is the effort Miggy gives detroit, then sit his big ass down until he’s able to perform like pre-injured Miggy. He did absolutely nothing to contribute to his teams effort. He dove and had three horrific PAs.
