Chris Davis breaks O’s single-season home run record

Sep 17, 2013, 9:39 PM EDT

Orioles slugger Chris Davis launched his 51st home run of the season Tuesday night at Fenway Park. It was a bomb over the center field wall and it pushed Davis past Brady Anderson for the O’s single-season home run record. Anderson hit 50 in 1996. Here’s the replay from, with Gary Thorne on the call:

Was Jose Canceco a special guest in the locker room bathroom ? Mr. Butt Sticker.

It would be cool if they had a display case with a bat, jersey, steroid syringe, etc from both players. That would be nostalgic.

  5. baseballisboring - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:18 AM

And this is why I hate writers that pump their steroid bullshit with no evidence…they influence stupid people. Then we all have to listen to said stupid people. On an entry about a guy achieving a huge milestone, we’re talking about steroids. Congrats, Mr. Davis.

12,16,50,18,18: If I was a Baltimore fan, I’d be very happy this morning to see that fradulent HR record come off their books. Congratulations Chris Davis!

How is it fraudulent? Are you suggesting that Anderson decided to take steroids before/during one year, had massive results, faced little chance of being caught and then decided to stop taking them?

      You’re a moron.

Good deal, hopefully he’s clean, because it’s highly doubtful Anderson was.
