Matt Holliday sat out four of the Cardinals’ final seven games, including the regular season finale, with a back injury, but the left fielder will be in the lineup when the NLDS begins tonight.

Appearing on MLB Network Radio this morning, Holliday said: “Everything’s cleared up, my back feels good, I’m ready to roll.”

Holliday missed 21 games this season, but was his usual self at the plate while hitting .300 with 22 homers and an .879 OPS

Hope he can pick up where he left off. He was swinging the bat better than at any time in the past two years.

Ahhh…you beat me to it Spud. I was just thinking…”I hope he hasn’t missed a beat.”
This is a far different team with a healthy, productive Matt Holliday.
