A lot happened in the second week of October in baseball history. Here’s three pretty cool ones:

    Still bitter.

There are very large parts of me that will forever hate Jeffrey Maier. Like your first love that broke your heart, there is no amount of time that will allow me to forgive that theft.

BTW, I still believe that Rich Garcia hasn’t gotten the proper amount of hate for incorrectly ruling that call a home-run. If there is a baseball hell, I hope you spend some quality time there along with Angel Hernandez, CB Buckner, and Joe West.

Maier! evokes the same response in me as Newman! does to Jerry Seinfeld. Grrr.

Craig: Spahn did not start that game for the Braves. He won it in relief. You’re implying that the game was a starting matchup between the two; it was not. The starters were Feller and Nelson Potter.
