If the A’s advance past the Tigers they might have to play the ALCS without Jarrod Parker, as Joe Stiglich of CSNBayArea.com reports that the right-hander is showing signs of fatigue that has manager Bob Melvin worried.

Melvin removed Parker early from his Game 3 start because “it just didn’t look 100 percent right” and “the ball was just not coming out of his hand like it has.”

Parker also struggled late in September, which was blamed at the time on a stomach illness. Oakland may also be without A.J. Griffin because of an elbow injury, leaving the A’s short on rotation options. They have to get by Detroit first, though.

Even if Parker can’t go, Griffin might be ok for the ALCS, and we still have Milone. I know Milone isn’t great! but the club and fans still have faith in him, and it gives us a lefty in the rotation if need be. But you’re right, gotta get past Thursday first.

They could go with starter by committee. Start Milone or Griffin and then every couple innings switch to Chavez, Anderson and others.

But, as was said, The A’s gotta win Thursday first.

Right. Win Thursday. There are options after that. 1-11 in elimination games since 2000. That must change.

1-11 since the 1990 World Series

      Thanks for the correction :)
