As first reported by MLB.com’s Ken Gurnick, the Dodgers designated right-handed reliever Peter Moylan for assignment late Tuesday evening to open up a spot on their 40-man roster for newly-signed second baseman Alexander Guerrero.

Guerrero, a Cuban defector, officially agreed to a four-year, $28 million free agent contract on Monday afternoon. The 26-year-old will be in Dodgers camp next spring with an eye on claiming a starting job.

Moylan, 34, posted a disappointing 6.46 ERA (57 ERA+) in 15 1/3 innings this season for Los Angeles, but the native of Australia owns a 2.80 career ERA (148 career OPS+) and should be able to attract multiple minor league offers this winter if he turns down a spot at Triple-A Albuquerque and opts for free agency.

Best of luck. And any excuse to post this is a good one.

That picture makes him look cross-eyed. So much so, that I had to find other pictures to confirm he wasn’t. Otherwise, I was about to say, “well..theres your problem.”
