The birth of box scores, Nelly Kelly and … JOE CARTER GOING YARD.

One of my first memories of a World Series, since the Angels were never in one, but I remember that game, or at least the end of it, pretty darn well. What an awesome moment that was.

    ” Touch Them All Joe”

Wasn’t so awesome if you ask me.

    Signed,

It’s okay, you won some time later.

The way I see it, if you get to see your team win it all, even if it’s just once, hey, that’s not so bad. You could be a Cubs fan, and as a Cubs fan, you could have lived to 100 and never seen your team win it all. Not once.

At least a Cubs fan can look to the future, if you were a Expo fan all you can do is throw darts at a giant poster of Jeffrey Loria.

I wonder why only part of that statement was in all caps???? Hmmmm?

That was emphasis added for emphasis. Craig knows how to highlight the truly great moments.

I didn’t actually see this HR on live TV, my mother told me about it when I got home from a Homecoming Dance. It was kind of a weird crossroads, baseball was my love until my date for that dance came along. No wonder it didn’t work out.

I remember that homer well. I’ve lived off of that home run, those 2 seasons, ever since. One day, soon I hope, I’ll see something like it again.

Watching that slider come in low, barely in the zone and knowing that Carter hits that all day (usually foul, but he tends to get wood on ball) and holding my breath. Then, when it went out fair, it was surreal. I couldn’t believe it. My boys had done it again. Won the Series and sent Lenny Dykstra and his horde of philthies home.

    Great days indeed.

Craig has nothing better to do than to keep trolling us Phillies fans..

Trolling Phillies fans… it’s what you do when you have nothing better to do. Because Phillies fans are eminently trollable.

Ag, back when most everyone watched The Series…

    • thisdamnbox - Oct 22, 2013 at 1:41 PM

Stupid fat fingers, that was supposed to be a nice reminiscent “Ah…”
