Fired as Nationals hitting coach in the middle of the season, Rick Eckstein has found a new job on manager Mike Scioscia’s staff as the Angels’ assistant hitting coach.

Eckstein took the fall for the Nationals’ awful first half offensively, being let go after four seasons on the job that included working under both Davey Johnson and Jim Riggleman.

His little brother, David Eckstein, played four seasons for the Angels from 2001-2004.

No, David Eckstein is America’s scrappy little brother.

The funny thing, even as a grown man having 3 older sisters, Even when im in my 60’s they will always call me their little brother. Even though i’m a foot taller and weigh double their weight and plus some but I will always be the little brother. Man time to call some family and I loved David Eckstein. WHY GOD WHY DOES HE HAVE TO LEAVE BASEBALL!!!! damn it I did it again. . .
