Brian Wilson can’t sign with the Yankees because he won’t shave his beard

Nov 13, 2013, 4:16 PM EDT

Dodgers' Wilson watches the game against the Diamondbacks in the seventh inning during their MLB National League baseball game in Phoenix Reuters

You can cross at least one contending team off the list of potential Brian Wilson suitors, via Andy McCullough of the Newark Star Ledger:

Brian Cashman says you can rule out the Yankees signing Brian Wilson. His agent told team he won’t shave beard. True story, Cashman says.

Hey, a man needs principles in life.

What an idiot- he just lost one of the biggest bargining chips in sports. Even if he won’t shave his beard, his agent shouldn’t have put that out there. Now any team interesting in his services doesn’t have to worry about the Yankees outbidding them and driving up the price.

Good for him. Besides he can always go back to playing bass for the Beach-Boys.

To me, that says more about the lure of playing for the Yankees than anything else. Not what it used to be??

Last year here was all about the Yankees, Yankees, Yankees, Yankees, Yankees, Yankees. Now this year nothing has changed. Get a life.
