This is amusing considering the rumors about Seattle possibly trading top pitching prospct Taijuan Walker in a deal for David Price.

Today the Mariners introduced Corey Hart and Logan Morrison as official signings and Hart was given jersey No. 27, which is the number Walker wore during his debut this year. reporter Greg Johns quickly tweeted out this:

And then 15 minutes later Walker himself tweeted this:

You know, just a little late Friday drama on Twitter.

UPDATE: Walker deleted his tweet in a hurry, but it existed.

UPDATE #2: Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times asked Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik about the numbers-related tweets and “after a good chuckle” he replied “we are not trading Taijuan.”

Someone should have informed Walker that he isn’t guaranteed to be on the 24 man roster.

JZ is lying. Walker and Franklin are as good as gone.

It would be stupid to trade Walker! So yeah, Jack Z will trade em

24 man roster I always thought it was the 25 man roster. I’m saying this sarcastically.

Carlos Triunfel refused to give up #1 for Hart?

Seattle is abandoning its Farm Club experiment. It’s pretty clear. Walker and Franklin will be gone, to be replaced by more experienced guys.

Mid season, they will trade away all those experienced players to teams in the playoff hunt willing to pay the price and they’ll make some good coin doing so.

And then they’ll continue to talk about how well they are doing building their farm system and how great 2015 looks.
