Talking about handsome managers, fist-bumping Harold Reynolds on MLB Network’s Hot Stove

Dec 13, 2013, 11:33 AM EDT

The handsome manager post from the other day made its way around the Winter Meetings lobby on Tuesday and Wednesday. That inspired MLB Network to invite me on the “Hot Stove” show yesterday morning to talk about it all.  The highlight? A fist-bump with Harold Reynolds:

That’s going in the scrapbook. Oh, and here’s the segment. Larger version here, if you can handle that much handsomeness.

Be free with that hair brother… Time to embrace that chrome dome and shave the horseshoe

That was a very entertaining segment, Craig. It’s nice to hear and see you talk live since I’m so used to simply reading your pieces! Calling Matt Vasgergian the #1 most handsome broadcaster was my favorite part.

I love the fact that you’ve been writing about baseball for quite some time, and the thing that gets you on their show is a ranking of manager handsomeness. I guess you’ve found your niche.

That’s awesome. Congrats on that, Craig.

The line that I hope doesn’t die for quite some time is that we are in a “golden age of managerial handomeness”.

Well, it’s a cycle, so wait for the end of it. The last end-of-cycle was 40 years ago, in 1973. That year’s managers included Yogi Berra, Don Zimmer, Bobby Winkles, Leo Durocher, and Eddie Kasko, who had Craig’s hairline.
