According to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, the Marlins have signed Jordany Valdespin to a minor league contract. This confirms a report from Baseball America’s J.J. Cooper yesterday and also proves that Valdespin’s fashion sense is rather prophetic.

Possibly the most-talked about .219 career hitter ever, Valdespin wore out his welcome in New York after a number of incidents with teammates, the opposition, and even his own manager Terry Collins. Making matters worse, he also served a 50-game suspension this summer for his ties to Biogenesis. The Mets finally non-tendered him last month.

Valdespin’s deal with the Marlins doesn’t even include an invite to spring training, so it’s fair to say that his career is pretty much at rock bottom right now. He’s expected to begin the season in Triple-A.

Would love to see him signed by the Yankees just to see the interaction between him & McCann, what an idiot this guy is! He did hit a few bombs for the Mets unexpectedly, but seeing the PED indictment makes that make sense

What, no press conference? Drat. Another slow news day in Macondo.

A perfect fit for that organization.

Because the Marlins have such a great track record of dealing with head cases, no doubt!

If he can get his head on straight, he could still put together a nice career. He can run and play multiple positions. Always a market for guys with those skills.

He fell asleep next to a very large seed pod.

and you will fall asleep next to your box of depends…

Whereas you, of course, could fall asleep next to a seed pod and wake up next to the same seed pod unscathed. They require minds to take over.

that’s right i practice mind of matter, i don’t mind because you don’t matter old gasser

Oh dear, someone turned off your spelling and style checker again. As I mentioned elsewhere, your special school classes don’t seem to be doing you much good. Perhaps that’s because they’re trying to treat you for ADHD when the actual problem is that you’re just stupid.

By the way, it’s mind over matter. If you’re going to traffic in cliches (which is a nice variation on “why don’t you go play in traffic”) and make such a juvenile fool of yourself post after post, at least make a minimal effort to make a semi-literate fool of yourself.

Incidentally, for someone who doesn’t matter, you spend an awful lot of time looking dumberer and dumbererer setting yourself up to be ridiculed every time you drag out your burned-out insults. You spent all of last season convincing everyone you were a hopeless adolescent dufus with nothing interesting or substantive to contribute here. Apparently, you’re now gearing up to confirm that analysis, but, and this will doubtless be news to you, it isn’t really necessary.
