Chris Capuano wants a two-year deal

Jan 6, 2014, 4:31 PM EDT

The entire starting pitching market is waiting for Masahiro Tanaka to sign. Nothing is gonna happen of significance until he does. Thus stuff like this:

Capuano knows that he’ll look better to teams who try to get Tanaka or Ervin Santana or whoever else is left and fail, so he’s smart to wait. And maybe he gets that two-year deal.

Capuano — 35 — is coming off a season in which he posted a 4.26 ERA and 81/24 K/BB ratio over 105 2/3 innings. While he bounced back and forth from the rotation to the bullpen in 2013, he’s likely to snag a starting job someplace. He throws with his left hand, after all.

    I think I could maintain a 4.26 era. Where’s my contract

You got to be kidding? Chris Capuano is a one year contract guy. If he was smart he would take a incentive driven contract The SF Giants could use a veteran Southpaw as a 5th starter and a long reliever. Capuano has maybe 3 teams that will give him a one year contract. The Giants, Angels, and Padres.

Incentive driven…have you seen the guy…what kind of idiotic incentives could he earn other than being a warm left arm at the end of the bench.

I, on the other hand, want a hippopotamus for Christmas.

“….and I want a blow job from Christy Turlington”

I would accept one from Heidi Klum, too.

Royals: 1 year with player option. If he stays 4.50 in AL as 5th starter (providing he gives them a ton of innings) would it be worth it?

Most of the available starting pitchers suck this off-season, and yet they all seem to manage to get close to $10 mil. MLB will not survive at this rate.
