Picture of the Day: Elvis Andrus has a new look

Jan 11, 2014, 4:50 PM EDT

And now, for the really big news.

Elvis Andrus made an appearance today at the Rangers’ caravan event in Frisco, Texas. And he used the occasion to show off his new Abraham Lincoln-inspired beard. Check it out below, courtesy of Richard Durrett of ESPN Dallas:

No word on if Andrus plans to wear a stovepipe hat on the field this season.

    Adrian Beltre’s reaction:

Man, those dagger-eyes are up there with Nancy Grace’s.

If Beltre looked at me like that I’d run away and leave my Amish Beard behind. He scary.

If I was Latino and played in Texas I would try my damndest to look as American as I could too.

You mean try and reduce the size of your penis by a lot?

    • dylanthom2013 - Jan 11, 2014 at 7:16 PM

You mean get as fat as possible?

There is a community about two hours drive from here and they all have beards like that. When they get married they grow the rest in. It is odd to begin with but you get used to it after a while. I always stop on my way through to get milk and butter. And from odd look to odd comment, apologies if i derail the conversation.

He looks a little like Yusuf “Cat Stevens” Islam.

Here comes my beard, here it comes now. Cut and trimmed so fine.

    I prefer Nick Abdul-Markakis:

Prediction–He shaves it off for charity, just before the beginning of the season.

Meanwhile, it’s harmless, unless he messes with Beltre again. Man I would NOT want Adrian mad at me.

Hey, if it worked for Boston, Texas will try it.
