Nyjer Morgan is on his way back to the big leagues

Jan 14, 2014, 1:32 PM EDT

Tony Plush alert. This is not a drill:

Morgan last saw work in the bigs in 2012 when he hit .239/.302.308 for the Brewers. Last year he played in Japan, hitting .294/.361/.434 with 11 homers, 50 RBI for Yokohama in Japan’s Central League.

It’ll be interesting to see if it’s a major league or a minor league deal. But heck, Delmon Young got signed yesterday, so nothing would surprise me.

Phillies are signing him to shore up the clubhouse atmosphere.

I bet it’s not the Cardinals.

  3. missingdiz - Jan 14, 2014 at 1:56 PM

Or the Angels, come to think of it.

T Plush never let his lack of ability stand in the way of unshakable, supreme confidence. Palinesque.

Excellent racism my friend. Well done.

Oh good, I was afraid the upcoming baseball season would be too devoid of… you know… controversy and stuff.

Please, let it not be the Nats. We’ve experienced the awsomeness that is Tony Plush. We don’t want to be greedy. Better that other teams’ fans share in the experience.

    • NatsLady - Jan 14, 2014 at 4:34 PM

Please not the Nats! Pretty, pretty, pretty please not the Nats.

Or the Orioles. They’re not that desperate are they?

Come on, you can’t tell me you don’t want to watch highlight feelms of the Iron Giant and Jarrod Saltalamacchia trying to separate Morgan and Valdespin in the Feesh dugout.

    • bkoz1 - Jan 14, 2014 at 8:36 PM

Maybe we bring back Gaby Sanchez to platoon at 1st/clothesline Tony Plush and Valdespin.

It’s the Yankees. They need a distraction.

  12. dakotah55 - Jan 14, 2014 at 7:14 PM

I’m confident he won’t return to any team where he previously played.
