Blue Jays sign Chris Getz

Erik Kratz, Chris Getz AP

Non-tendered by the Royals last month after four seasons in Kansas City, second baseman Chris Getz has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Blue Jays.

He’ll get an invitation to spring training and compete for a job, with a starting spot within the realm of possibility.

Getz hit just .248 with one homer and a .601 OPS in 332 games for the Royals.

What are you smoking Aaron? No way does Getz win a starting spot with the Jays. He will be lucky if he beats out Kawasaki for the last roster spot.

I think “within the realm of possibility” is a fair statement. Its hardly a ringing endorsement of Getz

        A very faint possibility.

Getz is no worse than Goins…..someone has to play 2B, and if it is Goins, they are goin’ to have problems.

or now that he’s with the Blue Jays, is it’s .92 Home Runs.

That gush of air you feel is not the +40mph winds here in Kansas, it’s Royals fans breathing the collective sigh of relief that he now indeed won’t be back in KC this season. Terrible, terrible player. Sorry Jays fans.

You mean to say sorry to the fans in Buffalo.
