Reds hire Lee Tinsley as assistant hitting coach

This seems like a really late hire considering spring training starts is less than a month, but the Reds have added Lee Tinsley as their new assistant hitting coach.

Ronnie Ortegon, who filled that role last season, is now the Braves’ minor league hitting coordinator. Don Long is the Reds’ primary hitting coach.

C. Trent Rosencrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer notes that Tinsley was slated to be a rookie-ball manager in the Dodgers’ farm system before being hired by the Reds.

Well, that caps a busy, exciting off season for the Cincinnati Red Legs.

good now maybe between him and long they can get reds hitters to stop chasing pitches in the dirt and 3 feet out of the strike zone. also hopefully they can show the pitchers besides leake how to lay a bunt down!the whole team sucks at it but the pitchers are pathetic in trying to lay down a sacrifice.
