Utility man Paul Janish has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Rockies, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com.

Janish spent the past two seasons with the Braves and before that four seasons with the Reds, hitting .214 with seven homers and a .572 OPS in 431 games overall. He can’t hit and at age 31 there’s no reason to think that will change, but Janish is a very good defensive shortstop and could snag a bench spot in Colorado.

think of how much money the reds have wasted on washed up ex-cardinals to do the same job he did with them at a much lower cost. the knock against him always was he could not hit but how much better did izturis, renteria, valdez do in his place.

Please, Dear God, put me in a coma until March 30.

Thank goodness! Now Wren can’t resign him.
