Ryan Madson to hold “full public workout” on February 7

Jan 29, 2014, 8:55 PM EDT

ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick shares the news in a set of consecutive tweets …

The Phillies, Red Sox and Royals have been linked to Madson at various points this offseason.

Madson hasn’t appeared in a big league game since the 2011 campaign due to right elbow issues, but he is finally recovered from Tommy John surgery and is expected to carry a clean bill of health into this spring.

The 33-year-old right-hander posted an outstanding 2.45 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 126/29 K/BB ratio in 113 2/3 innings during his last two seasons (2010-2011) with the Phillies. A reunion in Philly appears possible.

Could certainly be an option for Brian Cashman and the Yankees on cheap as a low risk high reward signing. IF he’s completely healthy he certainly would be a decent option to work the late innings in relief to compliment Robertson closing.

The Phillies? Nah, his primary stat is too low, <35.

Is there a new MLB team that hasn’t been named? The Portland So & So’s? The San Jose What’s His Faces?

With all the money he stole over the past 2 years, he should pay a team league minimum to give him a chance.

Wonder where his whirlwind swindling tour will take him next?
