Jonny Gomes got a giant, hideous, glorious tattoo commemorating the 2013 World Series

Feb 7, 2014, 1:00 PM EDT

On the one hand: my biggest objection to ever getting a tattoo is that I can’t think of anything I could commit to that I one day wouldn’t regret or be embarrassed by or something. Say what you want about Jonny Gomes‘ tattoo, but you know he’ll cherish the 2013 season and World Series until the day he dies.

On the other hand: yeah, you can say a lot about this tattoo.

    Idiot.

I really don’t know what else to say. If you put a tattoo or tattoos that size on your body, am I supposed to respect that? I don’t get it. Jesus H., I love baseball. But, this is absurd. Even if you are a Boston fan, you have to admit you would never do what Mike Napoli did to his body.

    • alang3131982 - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:10 PM

WHAHAAAAAAAAAAA? comment so confusing for so many reasons

      • halladaysbicepts - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:15 PM

Confusing? What, the English language is so hard to understand?

      • alang3131982 - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:30 PM

Confusing because you said the wrong person. Confusing because I assumed you were banned.

Also, why is this absurd? I mean I’d never do it, but who cares? Do you call people who smoke or drink excessively idiots?

      • halladaysbicepts - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:38 PM

        @alang3131982

You are comparing people that smoke or drink to putting 2 tattoos on their body the size of a planet? You must be joking.

By the way, I was never banned, douchebag. I refrained from commenting.

      • alang3131982 - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:45 PM

Also, Craig said you were banned, doucebag: http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/07/17/missing-you-cepts/

      • halladaysbicepts - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:51 PM

        @alang3131982

I think worrying about me is the least of your problems. Try some therapy instead of worrying about what the ‘cepts comments on.

      • alang3131982 - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:54 PM

not worried about it. I’m bored and asked a question. I find it odd. I find odd things interesting. Ergo, I posted a relatively benign comment. You then got all huffy.

I have two problems: I’m bored and i can’t resist a good internet comment section troll.

      • halladaysbicepts - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:02 PM

        @alang3131982

Now I am an internet troll because I don’t like tattoos the size of planets on a person’s body?

Hahaha! You are a piece of work. I’m a troll because I don’t like tattoos. You people are unreal!

      • alang3131982 - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:09 PM

You’re a troll given your history.

You being a troll has nothing to do with this one single comment (although the ones after it…). I dont think your comment was trolling. I thought it was odd, incorrect and a bit bizarre in its vehemence. That’s why I asked follow-up questions. If you didnt want to engage in a conversation, why post a comment? What’s the point of your comment other than to express an opinion and discuss that opinion?

        That’s all.

      • Craig Calcaterra - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:10 PM

Bicepts was banned initially, then I let him back. Then, after a few weeks, he asked that he be permanently banned because he could not help himself from getting into it with people, etc. I told him at the time that there was no reversing it. He said he understood. I banned him that day and, as far as I was concerned, he stayed banned.

I see he began commenting again yesterday. I suspect it’s via a different IP address or email account or what have you (or ban filters are good, but not invulnerable). I am somewhat conflicted on what to do here.

On the one hand, I’ve read all his comments since yesterday and they’re not bad. And I’ve talked with him periodically on Twitter over the years and know that (a) he loves baseball; (b) loves commenting here; and (c) honestly does mean what he says when he says it (i.e. he’s not a troll trying to get rises out of you all).

On the other hand, well, he was banned.

I’m inclined to let him stay unless and until he messes up again. I’m curious to know y’all’s thoughts.

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:25 PM

He’ll start a riot, man. If you can handle refereeing riots, then WTF.

      • maikoch - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:26 PM

Craig: If you’re going to allow dirtyharry, stlouisbaseball1, barrywhererufrom, favofevilempire, historiophiliac, and others whose obnoxiousness often veers into offensiveness, I don’t see why halladaysbicepts should be banned.

      • craigssideburns - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:35 PM

Pete Rose agreed to his lifetime ban and is still banned soooooo………

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:56 PM

I’d say you should just have a rule that you can’t make personal attacks against people to keep it civil (delete comments if they do), but then that dude couldn’t whine all the time about how much he hates me.

      • moogro - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:08 PM

I wouldn’t put historiophiliac in with that group.

      • churchoftheperpetuallyoutraged - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:15 PM

Craig: If you’re going to allow dirtyharry, stlouisbaseball1, barrywhererufrom, favofevilempire, historiophiliac, and others whose obnoxiousness often veers into offensiveness, I don’t see why halladaysbicepts should be banned.

There’s a huge difference between racist and/or homophobic comments and being obnoxious. Craig, and the other writers, are extremely lenient with what they let us get away with, by ‘bicepts has gone too far multiple time and was rightly banned.

Also how the is historio obnoxious? Just don’t make sexist comments or she’ll rightfully call you out of them, and don’t talk about getting hit in the junk.

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:24 PM

Hey! Leave ‘Philliac out of this. She’s ok. Well, so long as you don’t get a ball to the junk she’s ok. She gets a bit giddy when someone gets HBPID.

      • Reflex - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:36 PM

        1) Halladay was banned for good reasons. It is only a matter of time until he drinks too much and goes off on yet another tirade that involves either racism, nationalism, sexism or homophobia. This question has come up a few times in the past year and a half or so and the community consensus has been that halladay should stay banned because he brought little of value to the board while frequently inciting mob mentality.

        2) His comments have not seemed so bad because people have declined to engage him so far. This is the first thread where someone engaged him, and as usual within just a few posts he was calling them a douchebag. Seriously, halladay does not understand how to have a civil discussion with anyone for any length of time if anyone says even the slightest thing that he disagrees with.

        3) The fact that dirtyharry and a couple other trolls have not been banned yet is not an argument in favor of halladay. In my opinion harry should be banned as well, he adds no value and he long passed comedy value. The same goes for the guy who repeatedly refers to Gator as a pederast, that is inexcusable, libelous and absolutely over the boundaries of any reasonable forum rules.

        4) Personal attacks should be treated with a warning and deletion. Repeated personal attacks should result in banishment. I have a low tolerance for it.

        5) maikoch: I have declined to respond to your trolling for a while now. I know you think your name is incredibly clever, and I suppose it would be to me if I were still 12. Quite frankly your account is mostly there to troll historio. I have no idea what your problem with her is, but she has been a valued member of this community for years, brings a lot to the discussions we have, is an actual history teacher with a lot of perspective on the game of baseball(and family blood who played professionally) and dares commit the crime of standing up for her gender. If anyone is going to be banned between the two of you, its the guy who thinks his name is hilarious because it implies ‘penis’. It will not be the person who is educated, articulate, and has been a productive and valued contributor to HBT for many years now. Grow up and get a life.

      • Detroit Michael - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:38 PM

“By the way, I was never banned, douchebag. I refrained from commenting.”

Sounds to me like halladaysbicepts is a flat-out liar. Why Craig is leaning toward leting this headache back onto the boards, I don’t know. His comments typically don’t bug me, so I don’t care either way, but I don’t know why Craig would want the hassle.

      • cohnjusack - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:47 PM

I really couldn’t care less if cepts is one here or not. Sure, he’s loud, obnoxious, rarely seems to say anything rooted in fact, seems a bit xenophobic…but so what? He makes me feel much smarter and that’s the important thing.

Also, how did historiophiliac end up on that list of offensive posters? Or stlbaseball1?

      • halladaysbicepts - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:50 PM

        @Reflex

To have that much to say about me speaks volumes about you on a baseball website. This isn’t life or death, man. You sound like you need to see a doctor. You are a douchebag. I have no more to say. Goodbye.

      • Reflex - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:52 PM

        I rest my case.

      • skerney - Feb 7, 2014 at 5:23 PM

Halladaysbicepts has at times made racially insensitive, homophobic, misogynistic, deliberately inflammatory and personal attacks in his comments. This place was better off without him He’s already doing what he loves to do, making this site about him and ruining the fun we have by socializing with one another in a mostly hate-free environment. HBT is fun and he spoils it for many of us. He’s toxic and he likes it.

Craig, it’s my opinion that this place and everyone in it will be better off without halladaysbicepts spewing his mean spirited vitriol. I believe that the culture you have cultivated here is a reflection of your personality. It’s civil, goofy, fun, forward thinking, at times progressive, at times traditional and the people who spend their days here appreciate that HBT isn’t like tother mean-spirited sports talk forums out there. This isn’t the ESPN comments section. This isn’t Reddit. ‘cepts is a man who exists to be right all the time and bring everyone he comes into contact with down to his tiny level. I’m a grown man and can handle James/bicepts and not let it ruin my day. It’s just i enjoyed it when he wasn’t around and as long as he’s here I know the kind of place that HBT is when he’s here doing his gimmick all season long.

But whatever, the guy is basically a time bomb. If you don’t ban his IP address he’ll give you a good reason soon.

      • stoutfiles - Feb 8, 2014 at 1:02 PM

Why do people want this guy banned? Clearly this is a cry for help. Anyone banned from a sports blog and begging to come back doesn’t have a lot going on. Instead of banning him, let’s help him.

    • sfp311 - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:12 PM

I think he meant to say Jonny Gomes. It was Napoli’s twitter, but Gomes tattoo.

      • halladaysbicepts - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:17 PM

Thank you. Yeah, sorry. Jonny Gomes, not Mike Napoli.

    • El Bravo - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:14 PM

bicepts bicepts bicepts! back up in the heezy baybay!

“even if you were a boston fan” hahah, that is PRECISELY the type of person that would do that to their own body.

    • alang3131982 - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:45 PM

you refrained from commenting, really? It wasnt cause you were an insulting racist jerk?

I wasnt comparing anything, I was inquiring to why you let a tattoo some random dude got to make you so upset.

now that new information has come to light, I also dont get why Gomes getting a tattoo caused you to break your commentary sabbatical & also be really mad. I mean, it’s a tattoo, tons of people do far worse things to their body and society everyday, why get all bent out of shape over a tattoo?

If a brain surgeon got a tattoo would he also be an idiot, or would the tattoo have to reach a critical mass before turning someone into an idiot?

Also, man, why start name calling?

    • pisano - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:48 PM

I think your first line said it all.

    • 18thstreet - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:15 PM

THE HEADLINE SAYS IT WAS GOMES!

You know who is really going to suffer, now that you’re back? BarryWhereUFrom. I mean, we’re not going to have enough time to slam both of you idiots. (RIP, Bozos4All.)

      • APBA Guy - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:21 PM

        So true, 18th St.

      • halladaysbicepts - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:23 PM

I don’t want to be slammed by anyone. I just want to get my baseball points across. That’s the bottom line. I don’t like the local or national perception of the Philadelphia Phillies and was very bothered by the death of a broadcaster, Ralph Kiner, that I grew up listening to.

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:32 PM

Oh please. BarryWhereUFrom is a piker. In fact, we can mock that numbskull, nymetsetc, vivabear, AND dirtyharry1971 simultaneously and still have time to discuss the finer points of appreciating baseball from a statistical standpoint with ‘Cepts. Of course he’ll make make sweeping generalizations about people and insist that we all buy into it and then we will have to point out why he’s wrong, but its hardly the same level of vicious crap that those other dingleberries put out.

      • halladaysbicepts - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:40 PM

Thank you, cur68. I appreciate it. You and I actually had a few good baseball conversations.

By the way, what’s with the “cur’68” new username? Something doesn’t look quite right. Please explain yourself.

      • vivabear - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:55 PM

Cur – I don’t see how you think you have a problem with my posts. Just because I’ve pointed out to Old Felcher that he’s ridiculously self righteous and racist?

      • moogro - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:12 PM

Yea, I don’t remember the apostrophe in cur68 before. Reborn?

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:20 PM

Heya, ‘Cepts. That apostrophe is from creating a whole new account. I dropped off the comments section for a while there (long boring reason, non-baseball related). I decided I didn’t really care for the old account with the linked blog so I made up a new one, non-blog linked. Threw that apostrophe in so that I could keep mostly the same name.

As for vivabear: you are a small minded troll and if it was up to me you’d have been banned a long time ago. Unlike ‘Cepts, you make personal attacks completely outside the scope of any conversation. You haven’t a single redeeming feature, either. The personal attacks on Gator are particularly odious. You think calling him a pederast and a “felcher” is funny, do you? That just goes to show what sort of person you are. Clearly these are the things you find most embarrassing and shameful about yourself. By calling Gator them, you seek to paint him as worse than yourself. By instigating the use of the terms you show everyone who you are.

      • vivabear - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:24 PM

Cur – ok I guess you are an internet psychologist. Thanks for the diagnosis. Where do I send the check for my co-pay?

      • churchoftheperpetuallyoutraged - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:26 PM

Yea, I don’t remember the apostrophe in cur68 before

Either someone is spoofing him, or he’s made multiple names b/c we’ve had cur68, cur1968, and cur’68 show up recently.

      • churchoftheperpetuallyoutraged - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:29 PM

Cur – I don’t see how you think you have a problem with my posts. Just because I’ve pointed out to Old Felcher that he’s ridiculously self righteous and racist?

Referring to him as a pedophile ring a bell?

      • vivabear - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:33 PM

church – kinda, I’ve referred to Old Gator as Old Pederast. So how does this affect Cur?

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:46 PM

COPO: those were all me. Recently discovered that I can adjust how the name appears next to the comments without dropping the account. I’m going to stick with the apostrophe me for now. My momentary identity crisis seems to have run its course.

Also, I recall some of ‘Cepts’ more epic comment threads. Yep, he’s had some sexist, homophobic, racist, downright ignorant ones. But, so have any one of the guys you and I mentioned as well as a few we didn’t. They all get to comment on here. With ‘Cepts, when its been pointed out by Craig that you can’t do that kind of thing, he largely hasn’t gone back and done it again (with the exception of insisting that all Latin Americans were kidnappers: that one seemed curiously durable). Same can’t be said for the others. For instance, I’m pretty damn tired of dirtyharry’s “bluegay” term. Also I’m failing to see how vivabear gets away with calling Gator a pedophile. So, if they get to do that kind of thing, I’m thinking that ‘Cepts can root for His Boys on here, too. He usually doesn’t follow people from post to post saying lousy things to them and attacking them personally, unlike some people.

So what does a tattoo have to do with your baseball point again??? Oh yeah, Nothing.

    Could be worse.

    • 18thstreet - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:22 PM

How? I mean, he could have misspelled Boston or something, I suppose. But that is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. This is worse than Buchholz on a humid day. This is worse than Bronson Arroyo’s cornrows. This is worse than watching Wily Mo Pena in right field. Worse than Mo Vaughn trying to dig a ball out of the dirt. Worse than John Wasdin in a close game. Worse than Carl Everett on Family Day. Worse than reading Shaugnessy writing about Carl Everett. Worse than Matt Young throwing to first. Worse than the tomato-red third jerseys. Worse than Shea Hillenbrand.

It’s ugly, I tells ya. This is worse than firing Terry Francona to bring in Bobby Valentine. That’s how ugly this is.

  8. alexo0 - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:28 PM

Thirty years from now we’ll be hearing Gomes talk about how teams no longer have the heart or the determination to win that his 2013 Red Sox had.

    • tfbuckfutter - Feb 7, 2014 at 1:55 PM

      I’ll be honest….

I don’t really see anyone interviewing Jonny Gomes about anything in 30 years.

I don’t mean that rudely either. I just can’t imagine him showing up anywhere but a “Remember the 2013 Championship Team” retrospective.

Or maybe on his hometown news here and there.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:20 PM

Why is it that no one makes fun of how Jonny Gomes spells his name — but they fhuss about Peralta all the time?

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM

I find any one of the many Jessica Alba images available online to be a soothing balm to this gross assault on my optic nerves. Mr. Kemp’s grandparents, while no doubt lovely and and noble people, are not elevated in any way whatsoever by being depicted over Matt’s nipples.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:04 PM

To each his/her own — except for Gomes, because that burns the eyes.

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:09 PM

Know what? I didn’t even notice the boxer in the 2nd picture even after someone mentioned there was a dog. I presumed the dog was Gomer, y’see. Then, as I was going over the high-minded reparte ‘twixt ‘cepts and his legions of fans, I noticed, in the bottom Gomer pic, the doggie. I’m not sure what this says about me, Gomer, ‘cepts et al, or twitter pics, but one thing is for certain: that dog is slumming it if he’s hanging around with Gomer.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:13 PM

His tattoo is ugly. His dog is ugly. His underwear is ugly. His jug of sweet tea abs is ugly. And, his kitchen is passe. God, it burns.

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:19 PM

Well, he’s a boxer. He can’t help the flat face, drooling, bug eyed, incipient crotch sniffing expression he walks around with. All boxers are like that. This particular one has more expressive range in his muzzle, though. I mean, that dog looks SO judgemental. He expression says “Daaaaa-YUM, Gomer! You wuz ugly before, homes. That tat aint hepp’n’ nutt’n’. Someone better get me a steak before I lift a leg on Gomer, there.”

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:32 PM

I think it’s a good thing for Gomes he has money.

      • paperlions - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:20 PM

That dog is a fantastic looking beast. Really, if I could pick a dog for Gomes, a mottled boxer or American bulldog would be among the first choices.

Is it a good thing he has money because that way he can sleep with any woman he wants?

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:24 PM

I’m told it will increase his access to hot women who don’t care how ugly he is — which is convenient because that’s not the kind of dog that will entice women to walk up to you in the park either.

      • paperlions - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:28 PM

“access”….so he can afford the cover charge? :-)

You can never tell how women will respond to dogs….if the are “ugly” enough, women think they are cute or feel bad for them for being “ugly” as if dogs have similar aesthetics and bases for attraction to people.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:58 PM

That one is not the right kind of ugly.

      • paperlions - Feb 7, 2014 at 4:50 PM

Oh c’mon….you just need to see him in action, the under bite, the slobber, the goofiness. I bet he’s a fantastic beast. Never met a non-awesome boxer.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 4:53 PM

Sometimes I really miss having a dog.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 4:58 PM

BTW did you see the OKC Seahawks t-shirt they made? LOL

      • paperlions - Feb 7, 2014 at 5:05 PM

Nope…I’ll have to find it. Too funny.

      • paperlions - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:30 PM

FWIW, every woman I have ever met walking my dogs at the park/forest closest to my house know who Mike and Tosh are….Tosh is a 110 lb American Bulldog. Not only do they know who Tosh is, they all rave about how fantastic he is.

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:55 PM

An American Bulldog? That’s a great dog. I’ve liked every single one I’ve met. Huge slobbery muscle bound hunks of affection, each and everyone. NOT a dog you want upset at you, but an easygoing, energetic, friendly dog when properly raised. My other dog, Carter, whom I lost in a divorce, was part bully of some sort. I miss that guy.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 4:02 PM

Well, in this case, they have the same abs.

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 4:08 PM

        Probably slobber the same, too.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 4:12 PM

BTW, I tried to blow up the picture to examine the “vitamins” on the counter in the background. I think somebody needs an off-season drug test. Prolly a Xenon huffer too. Hey, check the picture again for bacne. I can’t look at it anymore. I just ate.

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 4:13 PM

The thought of anyone peering too closely at anything related to Gomer just blows me away. How didn’t your computer break?

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 4:15 PM

Wonder Woman got those super bracelets, yo. Deflects incoming assault waves.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 6:22 PM

Sooooo, about my Tigers tattoo… You know the logo of the Tiger with the crazy eyes?

      • cur'68 - Feb 7, 2014 at 6:24 PM

        A) I didn’t know you had a Tiger’s tat.
        B) Yes I do know the Crazy Eye of the Tiger logo
        C) Pics or its not true

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 6:34 PM

        Hmpf.

        Eye of the Chicken.

      • paperlions - Feb 7, 2014 at 6:49 PM

        Holy Hell.

How have I never heard “Eye of the Chicken” before…that is freaking funny.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 8:27 PM

        He made it up!

      • paperlions - Feb 7, 2014 at 8:28 PM

Well, I can’t wait to have a chance to use it.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 8:35 PM

Your concern for my delicate peepers is duly noted.

Our equipment arrived in Florida today. It’s getting close.

      • paperlions - Feb 7, 2014 at 8:38 PM

Yeah, I can tell spring is right around the corner….all I have to do is look outside, see the foot of snow and the single digit temps and know it is on the way.

I actually really like winter. The cold doesn’t bother me, the dark doesn’t bother me, and I love having the ground covered in snow. Really, summer is about the only season I don’t care for….I also really like spring and fall.

      • historiophiliac - Feb 7, 2014 at 8:41 PM

        Me too!

What’s your favorite Olympic event? I love the biathalon but they hardly show it. :(

      • paperlions - Feb 7, 2014 at 8:44 PM

I don’t know if I have a favorite. I usually enjoy a lot of the coverage. To me, it is always cool to see the the athletes that win or medal that are just amazed by what they just did…to get the see the moments of pure emotional elation is pretty cool, no matter what the event. But I am a hockey fan, so olympic hockey is always exciting when there are “big name” teams playing each other.

Wow…this is dissapointing. I have been off HBT since the WS ended (well…for the most part anyway). And I come back to find out I am now somehow lumped in with Barry, Dirty Harry, Evil Empire (among others) as being obnoxious and offensive? When did this happen? Who decided this? How did it happen? Is it because I don’t lean left? I mean…could people possibly be that shallow? And I get no back from you? Help a brother out Cur. I can’t get my head wrapped around this. Who posted that? All I see is Church quoting someone. And you defending Philiac. Help!

    • stlouis1baseball - Feb 13, 2014 at 2:58 PM

      Lemme guess…
It was Roberto who made that comment. No?

    • stlouis1baseball - Feb 13, 2014 at 3:04 PM

Ahaaa! Maikoch posted that. Sorry Cur…it shocked me so bad I must have passed through in several times in a frenzy. Lol! The thing is…I don’t ever recall seeing this person on HBT.
I must have made a wonderful impression nonethelss. I will chalk it up to ignorance.

Tattoos are awesome! I wouldn’t get one but I love people-watching/judging and if I saw one like this on someone it would be a glorious day.

  13. junglerat524 - Feb 7, 2014 at 2:22 PM

Love me some Jonny Gomes!!! We use to yell that from the rooftops when he was here in Cincy. JONNY GOMES !!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss that crazy bastard.

  14. cohnjusack - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:37 PM

Why get a tattoo of Cousin It on steroids?

  15. bostonboresme - Feb 7, 2014 at 3:49 PM

Funny thing is, I had a dream he did this last night.

  16. jrod2go - Feb 7, 2014 at 5:00 PM

Makes me think of the NKOTB tat Andy Samburg had in that Sandler movie…think it was called That’s My Dad

  17. shaggylocks - Feb 7, 2014 at 5:09 PM

I don’t see what the big deal is. I have the same exact tattoo.

  18. pastabelly - Feb 7, 2014 at 5:16 PM

All of the sudden, Peavy’s duck boat puchase isn’t looking so stupid. The 2004 “idiots” have nothing on these guys. Napoli’s drunk run through the Back Bay in Boston is still a classic. Either way, I enjoy the 2004 & 2013 nuts more than the more corporate 2007 team.

  19. mdrew75 - Feb 7, 2014 at 5:41 PM

    2013: .247/13/52
    11 year career: .244/149/463

Grows a ridiculous beard copycatting the original ‘idiots’ and gets a couple postseason hits, and now we gotta hear about him every 2 seconds? Is there nothing else to write about? You’d think this afterthought of a bit-player had an All-Star season. Obviously, with the tattoo, knows that this is the pinnacle of his otherwise sub-mediocre career. Into his sixteenth minute people… How about talking about relevant Sox players?

  20. db1001 - Feb 7, 2014 at 9:05 PM

Still not as bad as Matt Kemps tattoo.

  21. nbjays - Feb 7, 2014 at 9:25 PM

One question… why does he have one of the Duck Dynasty guys on his World Series tattoo?
