Gio Gonzalez caught a big fish

Feb 11, 2014, 3:30 PM EDT

The offseason, when on goes trolling players’ Instagram accounts to see what they’re doing with their free time. Gio Gonzalez is the leader in the Cool Story, Bro clubhouse with this:

Yep. A big ol’ sailfish that took him 47 minutes to reel in. No one tell Paul Daugherty. He’d probably want to tell Gonzalez to stay in bed and rest and then his head would explode from the contradiction.

Don’t you have to recognize a contradiction for it to make your head explode?

At first I thought he caught a marlin, then I remembered he’ll probably deal with plenty of those during the season.

On that boat with Gio is the entire Miami Marlins fan club.

I wonder what pound test he had on that line.

About 125 feet off government cut, fly the kites with ballyhoo.

So, this beat out Adam LaRoche bagging a mountain lion?

Well. Adam LaRoche be the sack, I guess. I recall hearing of one of those things stalking children in British Columbia. They are a problem when there gets to be too many.

What lured you to the Instagram account and got you hooked, Craig? Thanks for tackling stories like this that you find on the net. Drop Gio a line if you filet like it, or cut bait.
