Frank White was let go as the Royals television announcer and then had a very ugly breakup with the organization as a whole, but now the 63-year-old former five-time All-Star is spending his time running for political office.

Mike Hendricks of the Kansas City Star reports that White is running for Jackson County Legislature in his home neighborhood. And here’s the fun part, via Hendricks: “The Legislature has oversight over the Truman Sports Complex, where the Royals play their home games.”

That should be fun! Not so long ago White said of the Royals’ ballpark: “I’ll never set foot in that place again. I’m done with the Royals. I just can’t do it.”

The Royals neglected the old political axiom that LBJ said about J Edgar Hoover: “I’d rather have him inside the tent pissing out than outside pissing in.”

IF KC doesn’t want him, he can always fall back on being the King of New York.
