Feb 27, 2014, 4:50 PM EDT

One of the more accurate scouting reports you’ll read, really.

    Bromance!

    • pisano - Feb 28, 2014 at 10:08 AM

Maybe Ortiz was looking for a date.

  2. themanytoolsofignorance - Feb 27, 2014 at 4:59 PM

And they say Jeter knows how to handle the press, do they?

  3. themuddychicken - Feb 27, 2014 at 5:40 PM

Ortiz has already been in mid season form with his quotes

  4. dlhouse18 - Feb 27, 2014 at 6:11 PM

It was only a matter of time before the MLB had to ante up to what the NFL has in soon-to-be DE Michael Sam. Thank you for courage, David Ortiz. This is a big step towards equality for people of same-sex preference!

    Hi

    • themuddychicken - Feb 27, 2014 at 7:01 PM

      Hi!

  6. nymets4ever - Feb 27, 2014 at 8:14 PM

    What a douchetastic reply.

    • historiophiliac - Feb 27, 2014 at 8:20 PM

      You are the expert.

  7. boiledgoose - Feb 27, 2014 at 9:00 PM

But will Grady’s ladies make an appearance in Boston?

  8. mudhead123 - Feb 27, 2014 at 9:56 PM

Did someone imply Ortiz knows how to handle the press????? He is one of the worst athletes when it comes to attitude… You have eaten too much chowder

    • recoveringcubsfan - Feb 28, 2014 at 7:41 AM

      It’s “chow-DA”! Say it right!!

    • pastabelly - Feb 28, 2014 at 11:03 AM

The press and public love David Ortiz and his “Big Papi” personna has served him well. He’s had issues with Dan Shaughnessy. I can’t say that’s a bad thing.

  9. braddavery - Feb 27, 2014 at 10:15 PM

David “Big Papi” Ortiz gives another passive aggressive response to reporters and world again applauds at how ‘open and funny’ he is…

    • nymets4ever - Feb 27, 2014 at 10:24 PM

Agreed…Really don’t understand the national lovefest for this ginormous D-bag

      • braddavery - Feb 27, 2014 at 11:35 PM

Apparently being condescending and arrogant is funny and endearing to many people.

      • dylanthom2013 - Feb 28, 2014 at 2:27 AM

You’re a really angry little dweeb aren’t you? If this is the best your life is going to get, why not slash your wrists? Don’t worry, no one’ll notice you’re gone except maybe maybe the pharmacy tech who’ll wonder why you’re no longer coming in to fill up on protease inhibitors and antidepressants.

      • recoveringcubsfan - Feb 28, 2014 at 7:44 AM

Oh, good suggestions, Dylanthom. How about if we just “concentrated”‘everyone who annoys you into camps? Not overreacting at all here, are we?

      • braddavery - Feb 28, 2014 at 3:37 PM

lol What a great reply by dylanthom2013. I especially love the part where he acts like I’M angry for simply talking about the subject at hand while telling me to kill myself.

  10. doublezero74 - Feb 27, 2014 at 11:40 PM

It was said in jest dumbasses. It’s funny and you stiffs are all but hurt about it. Tighten up!

  11. janessa31888 - Feb 28, 2014 at 7:21 AM

Good ole Grady. Such delicious eye candy.

  12. canadatude - Feb 28, 2014 at 7:55 AM

Big Pappi would be a “bear”, with Sizemore being his “cub” in the San Francisco community. LOL

  13. haytammy - Feb 28, 2014 at 11:25 AM

I’m not into dudes but Grady makes me wonder sometimes…
