Still no timetable for Zack Greinke’s return

Dodgers starter Zack Greinke left last week’s spring training debut after three pitches due to a strained right calf. According to Dylan Hernandez of the L.A. Times, there is still no timetable for the right-hander’s return. Manager Don Mattingly said, “We’re still going to be cautious with him.”

Greinke was not able to throw a scheduled bullpen on Saturday. Still, it sounds like he should have enough time to be ready for Opening Day in the U.S. once the Dodgers return from Australia for the season opener against the Diamondbacks. It needn’t be stated how important Greinke is to the Dodgers’ success in 2014.

Well this way he can avoid going to Australia after pissing them off by his comments

Rest is good for him, it’s all about the playoffs anyways.

Wow, what a shock that now Zack can’t go to Australia after insulting AN ENTIRE CONTINENT.

Agree. Now the Dodgers have a reason for leaving him behind with this made up injury.

Those Australian death threats must be taking their toll.
