For the past few weeks we’ve been previewing the 2014 season. Here, in handy one-stop-shopping form, is our package of previews from the National League West.

Can anyone beat the Dodgers? Besides themselves, I mean? The Diamomdbacks have grit and stuff, but wouldn’t having Patrick Corbin be better? Do the Giants have another run in them? It is an even-numbered year, after all. People thought the Padres would be surprising last year, does that hold for this year? The Rockies didn’t really do anything in the offseason. Will they do anything once the games start?

Below are our team-by-team previews for the NL West as well as our HBT Extra feature on the division:

Los Angeles Dodgers
Arizona Diamondbacks
San Francisco Giants
San Diego Padres
Colorado Rockies

Go Giants – Screw the Dodgers

Yeah the Rockies didn’t do anything this offseason besides making a ton of moves and adding depth to the organization

Well, it’s hard to pay attention to the rest of the division when you’re busy throwing mud at other sportswriters who dare have a negative thing to say about your BF Puig.

Especially when those things said are unfounded and, of course, thrown out there by folks who think they are more special than mere mortals.

Reading your comments, it’s no wonder you find such “criticism” enthralling.

…yeah, the Rockies actually did make some moves this offseason. Not sure if you were paying attention amid your Puig fetish.

I picture the Dodgers ownership group as Scooby Doo villians. They probably spend a lot of time twirling handlebar mustaches, laughing in a sinister fashion, and riding around in some tricked-out 50s roadster with flames on the side.

I am putting my money on the Dodgers as they spent the most money ( /endsarcasm)

Giants fans miss the days of Frank McCourt. Of course, a poorly run organization who insists on cost-cutting measures at 1st and 3rd base will also be susceptible to cutting the cost of security at the Stadium.

So, yes, be careful what you wish for.

      • nymets4ever - Mar 31, 2014 at 1:36 PM

Whoa. Did you really just invoke the Brian Stow tragedy as a way to taunt a Giants fan? Wow, taking LA trash to a new low. Haha

I actually discussed the ramifications of having an owner too cheap to care about the team he bought and then tried to swindle fans with.

But, yes, I can see how you came to some moronic conclusion. Seeing as how you’re a blithering moron and all.
