A-Rod’s nephew hits eight homers in eight swings

We may not have Alex Rodriguez to kick around anymore, but we can settle for his nephew. Joe Dunand is 18-years-old and is slated to go to N.C. State in the fall. This past weekend he went 10-for-12 with nine home runs, including going deep on all of his final eight swings, while representing Miami’s Gulliver Prep in the Horizon National Tournament in Scottsdale, Ariz.

And sure, you may think we can’t kick Dunand around either since he is not, after all, his uncle. But I have it on good authority that Bud Selig plans to impose the Klingon Code of Honor in this case. Since A-Rod has met disgrace, by Klingon tradition, his family should share that disgrace. QED.

Wow. The kid looks a helluva lot like his uncle in that picture…

Amazing that Gulliver Prep wears Yankee pinstripes.

Could it be that… He is not really his nephew but..? Nah.. Can’t be.

That sounds like the basis for a FANTASTIC movie!

Alex Rodriguez distraught over being unable to play baseball in 2014 makes a wish at the same exact moment his nephew wishes he was allowed to play baseball with the big boys. Lightning strikes and…BODY SWITCH!!! The results will have them rolling in the isles!

Like ARod sold his soul the devil.

Possibly make a good Broadway play. Call it “Damn Yankees” or something similar.

You would think after 4-5 Home Runs in a row the coach might call for an intentional walk, no?

  6. 1harrypairatesties - Apr 1, 2014 at 2:23 PM

After the 3rd or 4th HR he should’ve received a little chin music don’t ya think?

    • happytwinsfan - Apr 1, 2014 at 3:00 PM

chin music for a high school kid?

      • ejheim62 - Apr 1, 2014 at 3:45 PM

you didn’t know my high school coach, apparently. Old school guy, used to tell us if you couldn’t throw the runner out trying to score at home, the cutoff man had BETTER hit the guy with the ball. I can’t even make this stuff up.

    • bkbell3 - Apr 1, 2014 at 3:24 PM

And the next pitch after that the bat should slip out of his hand and give the pitcher a little chin music of his own. Don’t buy that the batter legally standing in the box should have to be afraid of covering the plate and getting hurt but the pitcher can follow through with his pitch and have nothing to fear himself. Esp. when maybe 10 players at the end of the year hit .300 which means they’re allstars and still fail 70% of the time.smh

Related to ARod or not, eight straight home runs?! That’s insane!

    • rje49 - Apr 1, 2014 at 6:25 PM

Yeah, not only hitting the ball hard, but at just the right trajectory. Insane is right.

    • infieldhit - Apr 1, 2014 at 6:53 PM

      Rodriguez is such a petaQ!

      • dcarroll73 - Apr 2, 2014 at 12:58 AM

But he could swing a mean bat’leth (even if he needed a bit of “blood wine” to enhance it.)

  13. slaugin - Apr 1, 2014 at 5:06 PM

I played with a kid in Little league who had the fastest pitch in town, he used to intentionally bean a batter in the first inning each game so the team would fear him. Seriously

Does douchebaggery run in the family?

  17. yahmule - Apr 2, 2014 at 10:30 AM

One of the very worst reasons to dislike someone is because of who might be part of their family.
